Circadian Trust, which manages, delivers and develops sports and leisure services for the benefit of the community in South Gloucestershire, has invested in SelectHR from Access as they look to reduce the cost of sickness and the amount of paperwork that it handles.

Circadian Trust recently became a company in its own right, having previously been part of South Gloucestershire Council. With eight different sites the HR team wanted to be able to monitor and manage staff, with a particular emphasis on sickness. Gemma Britton, HR manager at Circadian Trust, said, “We really want to identify how much sickness is costing us. With SelectHR we’ll be able to break this down by site and by using the dashboard we can show our staff in an easy to understand format how absence impacts our bottom line.”

The self-service module will also be used to reduce the amount of paper work and manual processes that take place at the organisation. “With staff viewing pdf payslips, filling out training requirements, and viewing and amending their personal information, we’ll benefit from a big increase in efficiency, not only in the human resources department but also across the whole company,” continued Gemma.

“We’re going through quality testing and benchmarking, because SelectHR stores all information centrally we’ll be able to demonstrate that each of our sites is reaching certain standards, which should help us achieve the Quest Quality Mark,” Gemma said.

SelectHR will integrate with ActionFile’s Payroll Bureau and Riteq’s Time & Attendance software. “It’s going to be quite a culture change giving all 800 of our staff access to their own personal information which they can update and view online. Hopefully the new system will improve efficiency and reduce the cost of absence,” concluded Gemma.
