Chestnut Global Partners (CGP), of Bloomington, Ill., and Harris, Rothenberg International, LLC (HRI), of New York, today announced that they have entered into an equity joint venture to provide employee assistance and other workplace services in Russia. Chestnut Global Partners is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chestnut Health Systems, Inc., which provides behavioral health treatment, research and training throughout much of Illinois.

The new venture will be called Corporate Health, LLC, and will be based in Moscow. Corporate Health is a partnership of Chestnut Global Partners, HRI, and two individuals, Dr. Alexander Shtoulman of Russia and Konstantin von Vietinghoff-Scheel of Corporate Counselling Services Sarl in Luxemburg. The joint venture will provide employee assistance and workplace assistance services to Russian employees of multinational companies. It will also offer EAP services to privately-owned Russian companies and government-owned organizations.

Dr. Shtoulman, an addictionologist, will be Corporate Healthís managing director. He has been managing EAP services on HRIís behalf in Russia since 2007.

ìThe creation of Corporate Health in Russia was the logical next step for Chestnut Global Partners,î said Russell J. Hagen, CEO of Chestnut Health Systems and manager of CGP. ìWhen we made the decision to expand our employee assistance and workplace services into international markets, we built our strategy around the Goldman Sachs BRICs report and focused our development efforts on the five countries with the most rapidly developing economies.î CGP has expanded into three of the four BRIC economies areas (Brazil, Russia and China) and Mexico and is exploring business opportunities in India.

Edward Trieber, J.D., Ph.D., managing director of HRI, said, ìThe Corporate Health collaboration provides HRI with the opportunity to offer existing corporate clients with employees in Russia the same benefit their U.S. employees are already receiving - a quality product that is managed and delivered by professionals who understand local culture and customs.î

The four partners are meeting in Moscow this week for continued strategy and implementation meetings.
