Caterer.com launches new online video service

Caterer.com today launches a video on demand service for job seekers and employers

Caterer.com, the UKís hospitality recruitment web site, today launches a video on demand service for job seekers and employers.

This new tool enables employers to promote themselves in a highly creative format in addition to the current ítraditionalí online job listings, profile pages and banner advertisements.

The videos are produced by, and hosted on, Caterer.com, and are intended to be a fast paced, fun look at the organisation, its culture, style and people.

The service benefits both jobseekers and recruiters. It provides candidates with a real flavour for what itís like to work for a company. Recruiters need to find new ways of encouraging candidates to apply for vacancies. With a predicted influx of candidates into the recruitment market in 2005, recruiters can use this innovative tool to attract the 42 per cent of the UK workforce that plans to change jobs this year.

Urbium - operator of late night bars including Tiger Tiger and The Zoo Bar- is the first company to take advantage of this new recruitment service from Caterer.com. Paul Reynolds, Human Resources Director for Urbium, explains; The concept of video on demand made a huge amount of sense to us. Jobseekers can gauge so much more about a company by seeing real people in real venues rather than just reading about the company. Since using caterer.comís video on demand service we have noticed an improvement in the quality of candidates that we receive.

Caterer.com handles all technical aspects including filming, editing and hosting the video on the site. The first completed video is around two minutes in length and starts playing as soon as the jobseeker arrives at Urbiumís corporate profile page.

Laurence Owen, marketing manager for Caterer.com, explains; Employers in the hospitality industry need innovative recruitment methods to attract the sectorís brightest talent. Caterer.comís video on demand service is a natural evolution of the jobseeker experience. By seeing a video of the premises and interviews with the staff, jobseekers are able to get a better feel for the company that they are considering applying to. This will strengthen a recruiterís brand relationship with jobseekers, helping to drive candidates to apply.
