NHS careers - A useful tool for everyone involved in education
Are you researching news, features and articles
- To help and advise students who have just received/are about to receive their exam or degree results
- Or to guide their teachers, lecturers and careers advisors at a crucial time in the year?
GCSE’s, A/AS’s, degrees and diplomas...deciding what to do next can be confusing for many students at all levels, and just as much of a minefield for those who are supporting and guiding them through their education options.
Accurate and informative features can do much to encourage students to make the right choices for a future career or continuing education that reflect their talents and interests.
www.nhscareers.nhs.uk has thousands of pages of accurate information on building a career in healthcare. There’s also a 24/7 response line (0845 60 60 655) staffed by people who can explain the variety of entry levels, duration of courses before qualification, and more about hundreds of careers in healthcare.
Students interested in planning their next steps will find that there are a lot more opportunities to make a difference in the NHS than being a doctor or a nurse. Studying accountancy, IT, science, engineering - even art, music, drama, communications or hotel management - can lead on to a great career in the NHS!
Journalists are welcome to use the services of the NHS Careers Press Office (0208 870 4301 or email bev@bbmac.co.uk). We can help you find NHS staff to interview about their own careers to help inspire others , source suitable photography for articles and features, or provide you with in-depth information about any of the careers in today’s healthcare team, including new and developing roles such as graduate mental health support workers or clinical coders for example.
Educators of all subjects can also use the website and access free literature to help guide and encourage their students to fulfil their potential.
