Careers and jobs live returns with a brand new feature

ExCel, London, 21-22 march 2004

Britainís recruitment, careers and training fair, Careers and Jobs Live, is returning to ExCeL for a third year and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Careers and Jobs Live is the UKís premier recruitment fair, last year attracting over 15,000 people.

The show, which will be held at ExCeL in March, will be showcasing a brand new feature, the Thames Gateway Learning and Jobs Zone. The zone, which is being headed up by Docklands based Satsuma Consultancy, aims to spotlight
local opportunities for employers and potential employees within the Thames Gateway*.

The zone features five specific areas, Jobs, Training and Learning Opportunities, Advice and Guidance, Self-Employment and About the Thames Gateway. Approximately 35-50 organisations are anticipated to exhibit in the zone and complement approximately 100 exhibitors forming part of the wider show. The Thames Gateway zone offers a highly targeted opportunity for people looking for jobs in their own locality or organisations wanting to recruit within their own area only. Sponsorship opportunities currently exist for companies wishing to feature more prominently within the zone.

Careers and Jobs Live offers the opportunity for employers and training providers to meet face-to-face with thousands of potential candidates with the widest range of skills and experience - all under one roof - providing a cost effective way of finding the right team. For job seekers, there will be national, regional and local employers at the show - so whether you are a job seeker, graduate, career changer or school leaver, there are jobs from a whole host of sectors to choose from.

Some of the UKís top employers will be at the show, already booked to exhibit are the Army, UPS, Remit, the Navy, First Group Transport, Phones 4U, RAF, National Air Traffic Services, Leapfrog Nurseries and the Met Police.

There will also be plenty of advice available from experts in the field of training, further education and organisations such as The CV Company who will offer pointers on how to present yourself and your CV to prospective employers.

The Wall of Opportunity has become a trademark of the showís organisers. It is a wall displaying thousands of job vacancies and training opportunities available now with the employerís stand number, visitors can call by the stand for an instant interview. New this year will be a colour coded system, blue cards will show training opportunities, white cards will be job vacancies and orange cards will display Thames Gateway-specific jobs.

Careers and Jobs Live also provides My Personal Record of Achievement, a booklet available to the 15-18 year age group. It offers advice and help to users to think about and plan who to meet before arrival and write possible questions to be asked - the booklet helps record this information. The booklet can be endorsed by exhibitors, and included in a permanent record of achievement for future reference.

Schools and Colleges organising a group visit are advised to register as early as possible for the event. A registration form can be found online at the Jarvis Exhibitions web site
