Britainís premier recruitment, careers and training fair, Careers and Jobs Live, is returning to ExCeL Exhibition Centre for a fifth year and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Careers and Jobs Live last year attracted over 19,000 people. Again this year, there will be plenty of national, regional and local employers and training providers on hand to meet with jobseekers. The show is open to people of all ages and experience, whether in full-time education, job changers, school leavers or graduates.
The show, which will be held at ExCeL in April, will again feature the Thames Gateway Learning and Jobs Zone. The Zone, headed up by Docklands-based Satsuma Consultancy, aims to spotlight local opportunities for employers and potential employees within the Thames Gateway area*. Godwin Ohajah, Director of Satsuma, said: îThe Thames Gateway is an exciting area in terms of regeneration and we want to help highlight the employment opportunities available.î
As well as being an excellent destination for jobseekers, Careers and Jobs Live offers great opportunities for employers too. The show provides a platform for employers and training providers to meet face-to-face with thousands of potential candidates - all under one roof. This proves a very cost effective way of finding the right workforce. Bruce Birchall, Exhibition Director said, ìWe are the leading recruitment exhibition provider in the UK and we pride ourselves in meeting the needs of both employer and employee.î
Some of the UKís top employers and training providers will be at the show. Already booked to exhibit are British Gas, First Group Buses, Tesco, the Metropolitan Police, Milkround online, St Barts and the NHS, National Air Traffic Control, Retail Motor Industry Training, Royal Navy, Army, Teacher Training Agency, Job Centre Plus and Travel Inn. As well as employers, there will be several universities and colleges on hand to discuss further education possibilities. These include Westminster University, University of Portsmouth, University of East London and London Metropolitan University.
There will also be plenty of advice available from training experts, including Careers Management Futures and Jobserve. A special advice area called the CV Multiplex will offer pointers to jobseekers on how to present themselves and their CV to prospective employers. There will be four colour-coded zones for school and college pupils, general jobseekers, graduates and incoming workers. Each visitor to the stand will get dedicated CV advice from trained experts, which will help to improve their chances in todayís competitive job market.
The Wall of Opportunity has become a trademark feature of the show. It is a wall displaying thousands of job vacancies and training opportunities available immediately with the employer’s stand number. Visitors can call by the stand for an instant interview. Another feature to aid visitors in their job search will be the Profile Plus form. This is a great way for people who have not brought a CV to create an instant profile of their experience, to hand to exhibitors. All three of these unique interactive features will be located in one, easy to find area at Careers & Jobs Live.
