Britishjobs.net, the UKís fourth largest independent job board, has been completely rebuilt over a nine-month period and has re-launched with a totally new look, new logo and new features in order to give candidates an enhanced experience.
And in a departure from Britishjobsí history of service to agencies, it will market itself to employers for the first time.
The new look comprises a cleaner, more modern feel, a new logo and additional features. However, the job board remains true to its aim of ëJobs you want, where you liveí.
Britishjobs is one of the pioneers in the online jobs market. It was established in 2000 and has grown organically by specialising in serving recruitment agenciesí needs. It now has 500 regional sites under the Britishjobs brand. With the re-launch, the job board will be targeting employers with job postings from 50, while agencies will continue to benefit from free one-month trials.
MD Graham Miles said: ìOur strength lies in satisfying agenciesí requirements in filling local jobs and we will now be offering that expertise to employers in a big way. We can offer companies 125,000 registered candidates, and for candidates we have 31,000 vacancies across 62 sectors.î
The most noticeable improvement in the functionality of the mother site and across the network of town and county sites is in the candidate area, where candidates will have a totally new experience. User-friendly features now include:
Magic Match. Every time a new job is added, Magic Match automatically checks a candidateís skills and location and lists all of the jobs which match those criteria;
Job Basket. This allows multiple job applications;
Advanced application history, with notes and reminders of all jobs applied for;
Featured job and featured employer;
E-mail alerts and ëe-mail a friendí;
Careers advice, bibliography; professional CV template;
Local news and weather
For agencies and companies, the new site delivers an improved candidate search, which includes candidate ranking. There is a comprehensive directory of agencies as well as CV search; CV-Am alerts; office skills training for candidates added to candidate skills testing and access to a range of business-related services.
