bluecollar.com.au (Australiaís bluecollar job search site) launches in Australia & New Zealand

bluecollar.com.au is an online job site aimed specifically at bluecollar workers (Skilled & Hourly paid) which is 45% of the total Australian workforce. Our target industries are:
Trades / Construction / Mining / Transport / Agriculture / Warehousing / Manufacturing Hospitality & Shutdowns. Our strategy is to develop a very strong brand in this market with an easily recognisable logo and catchy generic name. Some of the key strategies in building the business are our competitive price, branding and dealing directly with employers & recruitment companies on a non-competitive basis & capturing a large volume of bluecollar workers onto our data base through our membership offering & our empathy with bluecollar workers.

Chris McKay the founder & CEO of bluecollar says ìWe are the FIRST online site dedicated to bluecollar (skilled & hourly workers) in Australia & New Zealand & our offering is unique in that we are not only a destination for workers to find jobs but to have access to special offers on bluecollar related products (work vehicles & clothes ñ safety equipment ñ airfares ñ mobile phones etc) we offer excellent value for money for employer advertisers and bluecollar workers their own unique destination for job seeking and advertisers of bluecollar type products a very targeted market to aim their advertising dollars at. Mckay, who was the General Manager of Manpower in Australia & has consulted to most of the large bluecollar recruiters in the region, said that we have aspirations to take our business model international & will be actively looking for partnership opportunities with similar operators in the UK & USA.

Key Points since launch

Clients: Have locked in over 100 employers.
Members. Currently over 10,000 have signed up
Alliances & partnerships: Aggressively forging alliances & having discussions with the Australian Union Movement about a joint initiative to give their members exposure to bluecollar.

We feel that WORD-OF-MOUTH in the bluecollar segment is how we can achieve rapid growth. This will assist us in developing a strong brand image for bluecollar.com.au. We want to position the site that will make it a destination that is so compelling that it will be mandatory to be a member/user if you are a truly a bluecollar (skilled & hourly) worker worth his/her salt.
