The BGL Group’s most recent survey of employees has exceeded the target set for employee engagement and surpassed the benchmarks for the Global Financial Services sector.

The BGL Group’s most recent survey of employees has exceeded the target set for employee engagement and surpassed the benchmarks for the Global Financial Services sector[1].

91 per cent of employees completed the survey, which asked a wide range of questions to measure how they feel about the company and its products, the work they do and their loyalty to the Group.

Based on these measures, BGL achieved an employee engagement result of 76 per cent, exceeding both the 73 per cent target set in back in 2009 and the Global Financial Services industry benchmark of 68 per cent.

BGL has seen employee engagement continue to strengthen since the introduction of the survey in 2009. Initial results that year showed 58% of employees were engaged, while a further survey in 2010 found an increase of 5% to 63%.

Some of the highest scored questions for 2012 included:

Matthew Donaldson, Chief Operating Officer, BGL Group, said: “We know that our success is due to the expertise and commitment of our people, so it’s very important to understand their perceptions of BGL. This survey has given us some excellent insight into our strengths and weaknesses as an employer. We originally set a target in 2009 to increase employee engagement to 73 per cent by 2012. It was one that we thought was a stretch, so I am delighted that we have managed to exceed it. Now our challenge is to maintain the positive feelings our employees have about working for the Group.”
