Best Companies has launched a unique guide designed to help graduates and job seekers make the best match when selecting a potential employer. The Best Companies Guide 2007 will also be available online at www.bestcompaniesguide.co.uk.
This annual reference guide is based on employee engagement survey methodology using data from more than 500,000 employees across thousands of UK organisations. The same data is already used to produce the Best Companies workplace engagement accreditation scheme as well as the prestigious Sunday Times list of the 100 `Best Companies to Work For`.
The standardised information, known as the Best Companies Index (BCI) score, is based on eight key workplace factors: Leadership, My Manager, Personal Growth, Wellbeing, My Team, Giving Something Back, My Company and Fair Deal.
To help readers gauge how a company performs within the eight workplace factors, the guide details questions to ask an employer during an interview. These `killer questions` will help readers get the answers they need to establish if the organisationís values fit their own.
Commenting on the launch of the guide, Jonathan Austin, Chief Executive, Best Companies says:
ìThe guide offers an unbiased and authoritative snapshot of some of the best UK workplaces. Its strength lies in the fact that it is based on what staff say about their employers. This independent feedback is a powerful source of information for todayís discerning jobseekers. For employers that have invested in workplace engagement, an entry in the guide offers real edge in todayís competitive recruitment marketplace.î
