Global financial services provider Barclays is set to create scores of job opportunities in Liverpool as the Bankís retail function prepares to launch the second of its UK-based Proactive Telephony Centres.

Expansion across its retail business sector has resulted in the growth of its Proactive Customer Contact division that which will add to its already 1000-strong Inbound Centre workforce at its existing base on Wavertree Technology Park.

Having spent the last eighteen months cultivating this division in the UK at its Sunderland Contact Centre, Barclays is looking to replicate its success on Merseyside by recruiting 24 Account Consultants - both full and part-time - every month for the next ten months. Barclays is also looking to recruit supporting Management and Leadership positions, ensuring that its 200-plus consultants have the right level of leadership support.

And it signals the companyís continuing commitment to supporting economic growth in Merseyside, as Barclays Head of Premium Segments, Alan Longmuir, explains:

ìThis is a fantastic further investment into the Merseyside economy and provides great confidence in our position as a key and progressive employer in the region,î he said.

ìOurs are not your average contact centres. Our Proactive Contact Centre division has grown rapidly to meet the needs of our Customers and Clients right across the UK Retail Banking portfolio - from our Personal Customers to our Local Business and Premier Clients.î

And as one of the top five global banks, with 15 million retail customers in the UK, Barclays is on the look-out for first-class people to become a part of the newest, most high-profile parts of the business.

ìWe are looking for individuals who can have a great conversation with our Customersî, Longmuir adds. ìWe want people who can introduce new financial solutions to our customers that help them to make and save them money and build long-term customer relationships.

ìWith an exceptional starting salary of 16,000, impressive bonus scheme, comprehensive training and induction plan and one of the best holiday and employee-care schemes in the UK, Barclays can offer truly unique career opportunities.î

Following a stint at a competitor contact centre, Seb Cain found the lure of a career at Barclays difficult to resist. He was among the first to join the Liverpool Centreís ranks in early September in a managerial role and has high praise for the investment made into new recruits.

ìI was actually amazed at the amount of time and support given to each individual during the comprehensive training process. Each and every team member was instilled with the skills to fulfil their role to the high Barclays standards which – most importantly -ensured that they had the confidence in their own abilities when they eventually progressed to the live floor.î

Hard work, training and career growth is balanced with a thriving social scene at the Wavertree Technology Park making the centre a great environment in which to work.

And once they join the ranks, the sky is the limit when it comes to developing career prospects.
