Award-winning MYOB implements PayGlobal HR, Payroll and HR Self-Service software

PayGlobal ëtechnically offers far greater flexibility than other systemsí

MYOB, a provider of award-winning software to small businesses and Accountancy Practices, has implemented PayGlobal software for its HR, Payroll and HR Self-Service needs. MYOB develops a range of business and accounting software and supports more than 500,000 owner-operated businesses and 10,000 accounting practices worldwide.

The UK office has overhauled its internal software systems, moving from an outsourced payroll process, to the new PayGlobal system that will help fulfill all people management, payroll and employee self-service needs for its 220 people.

Melanie Vongswang, Head of HR for MYOB Europe, explains, ìFrom an HR perspective, we needed clarity and uniformity. MYOBís payroll sits in the finance function, so we found that there was a great deal of work duplication between HR and Payroll. By implementing PayGlobal people management software, we are creating much less administration and more control.î

MYOB also uses PayGlobal in its Australian Head Office, but the European division was free to make its own selection. PayGlobal UK became one of several HRP software or outsourced payroll contenders.

ìPayGlobal demonstrated that we could gain a lot more breadth from its people management system as well as tangible, useable reports, says Vongswang. ìThe HR self-service option was also an attraction. Many employees work remotely and it means they can receive electronic payslips, as well as access and change their own information, therefore reducing administration and improving data quality. When HR and payroll teams are constantly changing personal details, this becomes very dear to their hearts.

ìFor me, however, its .Net platform means that technically it allows far greater flexibility over other systems. Customising is easy, for both PayGlobal and for us. Within certain parameters, I can make changes to suit our business needs. We have also found that the PayGlobal team is very attentive; theyíve taken every request into consideration and helped make the system work in a way that suits us best.î

Grant Taylor, UK Regional Manager, comments, ìMYOB has been through an interesting implementation process. During this time, they acquired a company, split the company, as well as paid bonuses which were backed into another financial year. Weíve worked with them through every stage and process, understanding their business procedures and adapting the system to their needs.î

ìPayGlobal has created a great deal of traction and goodwill since we entered the UK market. HR and Payroll heads appreciate how they can save time and money by having payroll, human resources, time and attendance and other people management functions running from a single database. Another factor in the productís favour is its flexible design structure, which allows consultants to configure payment and award rules without hard coding.

ìThis approach means that we can prove the concept of the product in a sales situation. Prospects can give us examples of their most complex payment/award rules and we are able to show in product demonstrations how the software can handle their particular needs.î
