Are Recruiters Ready For Google TV?

Last week Google announced Google TV which brings the TV, apps, search and the web together in one place

Last week Google announced Google TV which brings the TV, apps, search and the web together in one place.

“The impact of the convergence between the internet and television is going to trigger a change in the way that people consume media in the future” commented Mike Taylor from Online Recruitment Marketing Specialists, Web Based Recruitment. “In addition, all of the major television set manufacturers are now producing TV sets which are web-enabled so you can clearly see the direction that this is all heading.”

As you would expect YouTube (owned by Google) will play a major part in the success of Google TV as people view web sites and online videos though their television sets and Taylor believes that this offers an opportunity for Recruiters

“So far there have not been that many examples of Recruiters making plans to maximise the use of online video in recruitment. However, with the ability for people to view recruitment videos on their smart enabled mobile phones, and now through their television sets, there is now another opportunity for Recruiters to get their message across. I strongly believe that within the next 12-24 months online video will go mainstream and the introduction of services like Google TV will only help accelerate that timeframe“

For those Recruiters interested in finding out more about the potential of Google TV Taylor is running a hands-on workshop on the 20th October which will cover how to produce and publish online videos for recruitment, including how to set up your own YouTube Channel. The workshop also includes a practical hands-on session where attendees can create their own three minute video.
