Managing Director, Jamie Leonard explained ìItís a simple format: speed-dating meetings for media and agencies. We take 15 media companies and 15 agency contacts, put them in a social but professional environment. The events are themed. Each agency contact gets 10 minutes with the media representative ñ time for a brief pitch and then an opportunity to chat. After 10 minutes the agency contact moves to the next media representative. Simple, but effective: for media itís a way to get face time with new contacts without having to chase through phone calls and for agencies itís a focussed event with guaranteed relevance.î
Asked to feedback after the event, some of the agencies and media made comment.
John Thurston from Genesis 1 said ìThe format was totally unexpected and if I had known I may not have come. That said - it really worked, was totally different and I'd come again!î
Jay Rai from Indoor Media said ìIíve been to many of these sorts of events over the years, and can safely say this was one of the most effective for us as a small media owner. Itís great as it puts us on a level playing field with the big boys. Additionally the informal nature means that the buyers present are in more relaxed frame of mind, and thus more receptive to dealing with us. Iíll definitely be participating in future events as and when the theme is relevant to our business.î
So whatís next for this young company? ìFor the rest of the year we have lined up events that include International, Graduate, Retail, New Starters, Engineering and Public Sector. And itís not just limited to London. We have already put dates in the calendar for Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham.î explained Jamie.
