AfterCollege Offers Employers Low Cost Branding Through Featured Announcements

Low-cost alternative allows employers to keep in touch with future candidates while exposing students to opportunities in their field

AfterCollege has launched a low-cost alternative to custom email campaigns. Employers can reach students and alumni by posting featured announcements in weekly targeted email digests to over 200,000 job seekers. AfterCollege Career Network Digests offer employers a consistent high-exposure email presence and an effective branding opportunity to highlight jobs, internships, events, educational opportunities, and other unique aspects about a company's culture products or research.

In a March 2009 AfterCollege survey of 653 college students and recent graduates, 79% of the respondents said the economy has made the job search process difficult for them. With the current state of the job market, students are finding it more difficult to find entry level jobs, said Roberto Angulo, CEO of AfterCollege. We rolled out our Featured Announcement email product in response to shrinking recruitment budgets and in order to make it as easy as possible for employers to share entry level opportunities that they would normally not share this way. College students and alumni benefit from receiving weekly digests by having relevant and otherwise hard-to-find opportunities delivered straight to their inboxes. The response from students has been positive. I have come across many entry level opportunities through AfterCollege, which I wouldn't have come across if I had not subscribed for the email alerts, said a computer engineering student from George Mason University.

Remaining true to AfterCollege's niche roots, employers are able to target active and passive students and alumni from specific regions and disciplines while increasing the visibility of their opportunities. AfterCollege allows us to maintain an active and consistent presence at campuses we might not otherwise be able to visit, while strengthening our presence at schools we do, said Tia Phillips, Senior Staffing Consultant of College Programs for Genentech, Inc.

AfterCollege is taking the searching out of the job search process, while allowing employers to connect to students and alumni through Featured Announcement emails. Featured Announcements are the first of a list of new features AfterCollege will be releasing in 2009 to help students and employers connect more efficiently in these tough economic times.
