CareerJunction has launched a mobile site and, in partnership with The Times, has refreshed The Times Careers, making job searching more accessible to the countryís job seekers.
CareerJunction, South Africaís number one Online Recruitment solution has launched an innovative Mobile site that gives job seekers the ability to search through thousands of top jobs using their cell phones.
This mobile offering has been launched to coincide with the new Times Careers which is available every Tuesday, starting from 7 October. Continuing with the interactivity of The Times daily newspaper, The Times Careers brings print, online and mobile together ensuring the job hunting and application processes are more accessible to a wider range of job seekers including those that do not have easy access to the internet.
CareerJunction mobile gives registered CareerJunction CareerSeekers the opportunity to search and apply for jobs using their cell phones, with the ability to customise their application cover letters and email jobs to themselves or friends using their mobile phones.
ìWith the constant increase in online job hunting we realised that there is a need to offer those job seekers that do not have easy internet access the opportunity to interact with our service. With over 20 million cell phone users in South Africa we realised that a mobile application would be the ideal media through which to achieve this objective. There is no difference in the application process between our cell phone and website application processes. The cell phone mechanism is just much more convenient to a very wide audience,î says Kris Jarzebowski – CareerJunction CEO.
CareerJunctionís successful partnership with the fastest growing daily newspaper in South Africa, The Times, has seen thousands of CareerJunctionís online jobs being published into The Times newspaper. October 2008 marks a fresh look for The Times Careers. All careers in all sectors, all locations and all levels have been brought together in one weekly Tuesday edition of The Times Careers. For the first time, the new Times Careers also includes additional Job Ad information and branding opportunities for CareerJunctionís Recruitment Agency clients.
The aggregation of jobs into The Times Careers expands the reach of the clientsí jobs to over 376 000 readers in LSM categories of 7- 10. It also ties the traditional and the digital job advertising worlds together offering a unique service to the current readership.
A 2008 Work In Life Survey conducted by Avusa revealed that print and online are the top two sources for job hunting. ìThese latest innovations demonstrate CareerJunctionís commitment to adding value to the job hunting and placement processes for job seekers and job advertisers respectively. By combining print, mobile and the internet we can now offer even greater job advertising reach and job seeker accessibility to available opportunitiesî concludes Jarzebowski.
