Results just in show that 17.5% of HMVís seasonal Christmas staff were recruited at no cost to the company using HMVís bespoke on-line recruitment system developed by specialists Changeworknow.
ìFor the first time HMV was able to contact all its seasonal temps from the previous year and ask them if they would like to re considered for 2005,î says Lisa Astbury, Co-founding Director, Changeworknow.
Additionally Changeworknowís system has been designed to help manage the huge numbers of applicants who apply for seasonal work at HMV. Posting its seasonal temporary vacancies on the companyís careers site and inviting applicants to apply on-line resulted in a staggering 35,067 applications for 2,000 positions.
HMVís bespoke on-line application process is questionnaire based and provides immediate feedback on the suitability of each applicant. Research carried out by Changeworknow shows overwhelmingly that candidates prefer to get immediate feedback and more than 80% of applicants who are not suitable will happily select themselves out of the process.
ìIn this instance 22,155 (63%) withdrew themselves leaving the recruitment team with just under 13,000 applicants to process representing an enormous saving in administration costs.
ìOf this high quality group of applicants a third were classified as exceptionally well matched candidates, that is meeting or exceeding the initial section criteria, given the team an incredible 4519 well matched applicants,î says Lisa.
Of the 2000 seasonal temporary workers, 241 have gone on to become full time employees.
