Former police officers launch company dedicated to keeping staff out of trouble

Two senior retired police officers with 60 years’ experience between them have launched a company dedicated to helping people make better life decisions by teaching them how to avoid or deal with threats or vulnerabilities that could have a negative impact on their career and lives.

Professional Together has been formed by Phil Davies, the former chief superintendent of South Wales Police who served with the Metropolitan Police and South Wales Police for 30 years, and Tim Jones, the former head of the professional standards department of South Wales Police.

The training company, which also boasts the services of a number of experienced trainers many of whom also previously worked with the police across the UK, will target a number of sectors with its unique training and mentoring programmes. These are designed to help people make better life decisions inside and outside work protecting the reputation of their employers in the process.

The programme is designed to help individuals avoid or better deal with situations that could harm their reputation and, by default, career prospects. Their comprehensive sessions and guidance cover a range of threats to the reputation of those individuals and organisations, ranging from gambling and sexual consent through to problems around substance misuse and the responsible use of social media.

Its services are particularly relevant to high-performing individuals such as: sports stars and athletes; celebrities; high-performing leaders; and executives within organisations whose profile and actions may be under greater scrutiny because they are in the public eye.

The firm’s services can also be used by companies to provide guidance for younger workers embarking on their careers, especially those in high-pressure jobs, who may be vulnerable to threats or making bad life decisions that may impact on their future careers.

Companies of all sizes are investing more and more time and money in recruiting and training the best talent. These bespoke sessions help companies also protect that investment – and their reputations – by helping their staff make better life decisions outside work in order to prevent them getting into trouble.

Phil Davies said:

“After long and dedicated careers in the police force, we are keen to put some of what we learned in that environment to good use. We see so many instances where a misjudgement or a silly mistake can have serious consequences for both an individual and their employer. The bespoke sessions that we deliver are designed to reduce this risk in the best way we can.”

Tim Jones added:

“Many companies spend great time and effort recruiting the right staff, training them and then investing in their future. Yet all that can be thrown away by an error in judgement that could have far reaching consequences, whether it involves substance misuse or something to do with social media or sexual conduct. We aim to help individuals make better life decisions and avoid situations where they could be vulnerable to such issues.”
