After an extensive search of its own, Leeds-based Better Placed Recruitment (BPR), the specialist sales and marketing recruitment consultancy, has appointed Paul Bendelow to head up its new executive search and selection division.

A well known figure in the sales and marketing world, Paul has over 12 yearsí experience in identifying and placing people at executive level, both regionally and nationally. BPRís new division Better Placed Executive will focus on retained search and selection briefs for senior sales and marketing executives in the salary bracket 60,000 to 200,000, across all business sectors, from financial services and fmcg to commercial and industrial.

BPR director Andrew Gibson said: ìThe success of the regionís economy is creating enormous growth in demand for senior people in sales and marketing. Paul Bendelow has a tremendous knowledge of the marketplace and an excellent network of contacts. He is the ideal person to help us meet the needs of existing and new clients.î

Paul Bendelow added: ìBPR is a relatively young consultancy with a rapidly growing reputation. Iím really looking forward to helping extend that reputation into the executive sector with Better Placed Executive.î

BPR was formed in 2001 by Andrew Gibson, Simon Stephens and Dean Bartle, with the aim of bringing a more service-focused approach to sales and marketing recruitment instead of the more typical volume driven approach.

Today the recruitment consultancy has offices in Leeds and Manchester, and employs 17 staff. Its client list includes blue-chip names such as HBOS, Yorkshire Building Society, Experian, Norwich Union, Capital One, William Hill, Morrisons, Kelloggs, Nestle, Rowntree, Arla Foods and Jet2.
