Despite record levels of unemployment across the UK, one of the fastest growing experience day websites in the UK has discovered a growth area for jobs: the undead.
After launching real-life “immersion” experiences on-site like the Zombie Manor House, Wish.co.uk was overwhelmed with requests for work... as zombies.
Given the high demand for these experiences – with celebrity fans including Simon Pegg, Jamie Oliver and Derren Brown – Wish.co.uk is now actively recruiting for zombies to work at the Zombie Manor House experience in Warrington, just outside Manchester.
In addition to competitive pay, successful zombie hires will receive movie-quality make-up and prosthetics to look the part.
Applicants will be assessed on their ability to look, walk and groan like a zombie. Previous experience as the walking dead isn’t essential.
Interested job seekers can apply at: http://wish.co.uk/we-need-zombies/ and also via Monster.co.uk.
All applicants are invited to live auditions at Covent Garden's Pineapple Dance Studios on Thursday 28th June between 2.30-5.30pm. They will be expected to showcase their zombie talents in front of a panel of judges. Entrants should come dressed to impress, though zombie make-up artists will be on-hand for last-minute touch-ups.
Richard Kershaw, co-founder of Wish.co.uk, said:
“Hundreds of zombie fans from around the world have contacted us begging for work. Given the huge demand for our Zombie Manor House, we’re inviting these people to audition in front of our expert panel to see if they have the right stuff."
"Why settle for a dead end job, when you can apply for an undead end job instead?"
People can also apply by posting their best zombie audition videos on the Wish.co.uk Facebook page.
