Zeel’s Corporate Golf Day goes down a storm and we’re not just talking about the weather

Despite the inclement weather conditions Zeel’s golf day was a well turned out event as guests enjoyed 18 holes of golf at Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire on Wednesday 25th April.

Despite the inclement weather conditions Zeel’s golf day was a well turned out event as guests enjoyed 18 holes of golf at Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire on Wednesday 25th April.

What has been referred to by guests as ‘the best golf day in recent years’ the weather didn’t dampen spirits as everyone participated and had fun along the way.

“It is unfortunate about the weather, but that aside the day couldn’t have been more successful. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves and even with the wind making the course more challenging everyone covered in head-to-toe waterproofs completed all 18 holes. I am extremely grateful to all attendees, they made this day possible and enjoyable.” Rav Cheema, Managing Director and founder of Zeel Solutions added.

Although it is known that a keen golfer will play regardless of poor weather conditions, their guests showed their commitment by crowding around for an hour in the cold as they watched Trick Shot Rob perform an extremely skilled golf show which saw him tee off from heights before taking to the greens and fairways to enjoy their 18 holes.

“Even though the weather dampened the day on the course it certainly did not dampen our spirits or the generosity of our fellow competitors when it came to the fundraising for such a good cause. Thank you for organising and inviting myself and the rest of the team from Jark to such a well organised and enjoyable golf day and as the winners of the event we look forward to defending our title next year.” John Buckman, Chairman, Jark Plc.

Other comments from the guests included;

“Thanks for a great day, very well organised and even the torrential rain didn't spoil it!” Jon Hardy, Finance Director, GI Group .

“We all had a great day despite the weather – just adds to the memories of the day!!” Andrew Scott, Group Finance Director, Acorn Group.“Just a quick note to thank you and your team for a fabulous golf day . We had a great time and the weather sort of added to the fun . Your team are a credit to Zeel and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.” Ian Mclaven, Managing Director, MEM Recruitment.

“First of all I’d like to thank you and your team for the work and effort you all put into your golf day. We all thoroughly enjoyed your first golf tournament even though the weather wasn’t on our side for most of the day.” Nik Pagan, Branch Manager, Quest Employment.

It was noticeable that throughout the day the weather took its toll and players needed refuelling and would stop off at Tom’s cabin for a quick pick me up, some staying a little longer than others. But with the warm hospitality from the local club members guests felt very welcome and stayed till late.

The day was full of surprises and to round it off the evening of entertainment was a night to remember, providing a lot of laughs, guest participation and generous spirits. After enjoying a sit down meal, David Smith, Head of Business Development at Zeel Solutions took up the gabble in aid of the charity Type One Mission (TOM) to raise as much as possible for the chosen charity.

With the help, support and donations from all guests the target Zeel had set exceeded all expectations seeing the event raise over £2,000 for the charity. Charity founder Tony Buccerio made this comment;

"A fantastic day arranged by Zeel for clients and guests alike. The golf was great; the hospitality shown superb: and over £2,000 raised for the charity Type One Mission (TOM) which is funding a research project at Birmingham University to find a cure for Diabetes in young children. We are all extremely thankful.” Tony Bucciero, Managing Director, Templine Employment Agency and Founder and Trustee - Type One Mission (TOM).

Another highlight of the evening was when Zeel presented a large numbered 20 cake to the Acorn Group in celebration of their 20 years in business. A big well done, congratulations and Happy Birthday goes out to them. Andrew Scott, Group Finance Director at Acorn Group received the cake on behalf of the company and took it back with him for the whole team to enjoy; “The cake was a great touch and very popular with the staff.”

The presentation ceremony which followed the day’s proceedings saw Jark Plc go home as the overall winners with a staggering 91 points, runners up were E Response with 83 and in third the GI Group with 80. All scores which are respectable especially with the conditions showing that all teams did play a good round.

“The first golf day to add to Zeel’s timeline, and certainly will not be the last. The day was fun, engaging and rewarding and to be able to host something like this for all of our clients have been very satisfying. We always pride ourselves about being people focused and client driven and this is what the day was all about. We have enjoyed organising and running this event and i’m glad our guests have taken pleasure from it too.” Cheema concluded.
