Leading HR firm eyes London base as it sets up new divisions with bank support

One of the UK’s leading recruitment businesses, McGinley Human Resources (MHR), is setting up two brand new staffing divisions to service the education and healthcare sectors after securing an £8m specialist funding facility from Lloyds Bank.

MHR was set up in 2011 by the McGinley Group, with the aim of growing its offering in new sectors and to move away from a reliance on the UK’s construction industry. The business is run by Managing Director Colm McGinley, son of McGinley Group’s co-founder Seamus McGinley.

The business already provides a specialist multi-sector service to the aviation, construction, scientific and energy markets, and is now expanding into both education and healthcare sectors, having secured a multi-million funding line from Lloyds Bank Global Transaction Banking, following a recent switch to Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

MHR is also making plans to open its first office in central London during 2016, in addition to five existing office hubs in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Farnborough and Cambridge, alongside its headquarters in Watford.

Commenting on the plans for continued expansion, Colm McGinley said: “The business has set itself an ambitious five-year growth plan, with sales expected to exceed £75million by 2018. This year has so far seen us set up our new education division and we are also developing a specialism in healthcare recruitment in 2015.

“Having built strong relationships with other key sectors in the UK, we felt confident that we could apply this knowledge to new areas. Compliance is a key focus of our recruiting expertise, and is something that the healthcare and education industries in particular place great importance on.”

Mark Jones, relationship manager, Lloyds Bank Global Transaction Banking, said: “The management team at MHR has demonstrated real commitment and expertise in the recruitment sector.

“This funding support will give it greater control over its working capital and enable the firm to further develop into new industries while continuing to deliver the best possible services for its existing clients .

“The plans to set up a new office in London is also a natural step for the business. The capital is a hub of economic activity that continues to attract people from all over the UK and the rest of world as a place to work, making recruitment a key sector for the city.”

Kim Collins, relationship director, recruitment services, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “As demand for quality job candidates escalates, MHR is well placed to capitalise on this and build further on its impressive success. We are looking forward to working with the management team as they embark on this next stage of growth.”
