JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge 2004

Jonathan Edwards to host 18th annual charity race

Battersea Park will again play host to the 18th annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge on 7th and 8th July when approximately 26,000 city professionals from almost 500 firms compete over the 3.5 mile course.

Race spokesperson for this yearís race is Olympic gold medallist and triple jumping legend Jonathan Edwards who will start the race at 6.45pm on both evenings.

The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge builds real camaraderie between city workers, said Jonathan Edwards. It is also a great event to watch and does wonders for not only encouraging, but also funding sport in the local community.

The two charities benefiting from monies raised from this yearís event are - Sports Aid London, which provides financial assistance to talented, up and coming teenage sportsmen and women, and six special schools in Bournemouth and Poole for children with learning disabilities, aiming to create better play areas.

The JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge is the worldís largest corporate sporting event, and in 2004 will see more than 200,000 runners taking part in 18 events, in 15 cities, spread across six countries and five continents.

London contenders will be up against the formidable Royal Mail team, who once again earned the menís and womenís team titles last year. The top menís, womenís and mixed teams from the London leg of the global series win a trip to New York and the opportunity to compete in the final on Park Avenue.
