Housing provider launches in-house employability project

Social housing provider Acis has launched a new project to help its customers find work.

Acis, which owns almost 7,000 properties across the Midlands and North of England, has developed its Accelerate scheme to provide tailored support to people living in their homes to progress their careers.

The service will see a dedicated employability professional work with individuals for up to 30 weeks to help them address any potential barriers to working, such as lack of skills, health issues, or previous convictions.

And once a person has found work, Acis will also provide a further six weeks of in-work support to ensure both the employer and new recruit are comfortable in a bid to make sure the job remains sustainable.

Jessica Sanders, Customer Support Officer at Acis, will be delivering the programme. She said: “Our Accelerate offering is all part of our commitment to providing more than just bricks and mortar.

“We’ve developed the project in response to customer-need, and we’ll be working with our extensive partnership network to deliver real results for the people we’re here to support. I am really looking forward to working with our customers to help them achieve their goals and career ambitions.”
