Kai Petersen has joined Buck Consultants' Los Angeles office as Principal and Western Region Retirement Practice Leader.

Petersen joins Buck from The Segal Company, where he led the retirement practice for Segal's West Region. He has more than 20 years of consulting experience with corporate, governmental, and multiemployer pension and retiree medical plans. Petersen's expertise also includes plan design, actuarial consulting, asset/liability modeling, and MandA issues.

Petersen is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
