Managers located anywhere in the world can now study for a university qualification in coaching after a new course has been developed in Leicester.

From this month, De Montfort University (DMU) will be running the Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching. The course, one of the few university based distance learning qualifications in coaching in the UK, provides an affordable way to train managers with minimal disruption in the workplace.

The course, which is delivered through web-based teaching, tutor led skills development days and self-study, is part of a range of executive leadership and management education provided by the University's Leicester Business School.

It combines theoretical, applied and reflective learning to produce coaches who are able to apply a range of techniques to real-life business situations and practices.

On completion of the course students will be able to identify coaching opportunities, support individuals and teams to achieve results and develop plans to fit the needs of their organisation.
