John Blackwell, CEO, JBA

John’s focus is inspiring business leadership to innovate new work futures, bound together with a compelling philosophy founded on his 35-year board level career. He, specialises in creating inspiring new work futures, drawing on his own board experiences with some of the biggest firms; including MCI and IBM. For the last decade, John has headed his own boutique professional services firm, JBA. To-date, this 30-strong company has assisted over 350 organisations around the world to transform their working practices and optimise their workplaces for cost avoidance. John is a regular TV commentator, having appeared on BBC Breakfast, Newsnight, CNN, Radio 4, Sky News and a prolific columnist, contributing to the Times, Financial Times, Sunday Times, Management Issues and more. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a visiting fellow at three universities, and Director of Research at Henley Business School. John has built his reputation on knowing organisations better than they do themselves; providing answers and solutions to problems that stifle the workplace. Working together, he helps dismantle barriers, overcome corporate inertia, and embrace a mandate for change. Transformation has never been easy, but with John’s experience, it’s going to be more possible than usual.


Steve Dover, Corporate Director of Major IT Programmes, Department for Work & Pension’s

Steve is DWP’s Corporate Director of Major IT Programmes, with specific responsibility for the Universal Credit Programme – the biggest overhaul of the way Government benefits are delivered.  This programme includes the Central Payments System, Automated Service Delivery, Change and Migration programmes. In 2008, he led the £182 million IT delivery of ESA for the department, a programme that set new standards for delivery. Prior to joining DWP, Steve led the implementation of the Criminal Records Bureau and London Congestion Charge programmes for Capita. During the ‘80s and early ‘90s, Steve oversaw the construction of some of the largest City of London developments as well as leading major construction projects for the Royal Oman Police and Sultan’s Armoured Regiment in the Sultanate of Oman. He’s a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, having led major expeditions to the Sultanate of Oman.  And he can also drive a Chieftain tank!

Roshni Haywood, HR Director at GE Capital

Roshni Haywood is the Senior HR Manager for GE Capital Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  One of the leading financial services companies in EMEA - with more than $80 billion in assets, over 19,000 employees and a presence in 20 countries, generating in excess of $1 billion net income for the company. GE Capital EMEA also includes Mubadala GE Capital PJSC, the $8B commercial finance joint venture between GE and Mubadala, based in Abu Dhabi, which is focused on commercial investments around the world with a particular emphasis on the Middle East. Roshni joined GE in June 1996 as HR Manager for GE Consumer Finance in the UK, responsible for Sales & Marketing. In 1999 she was promoted to Human Resources Director for the GE Consumer Finance business responsible for the UK & Ireland and in September 2002 was appointed Executive Development Leader within Corporate Human Resources based in Fairfield, CT. In March 2004, Roshni was appointed HR Integration Leader, GE Healthcare, based at their HQ in Pollards Wood, UK following the acquisition of Amersham Plc. In October 2004, Roshni was promoted to the position of VP HR, GE Healthcare International based in Buc, France, responsible for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Korea, India, ANZ, SEA and China.  In February 2009, Roshni was appointed into her current role at GE Capital. Roshni and her husband have one son.


Simon Ward, Group Property Director, Barclays

“Simon Ward is a partner at Cushman & Wakefield, based in London. With over 30 years' experience in the European and global corporate real estate industry, Simon has held several senior roles including regional director of Corporate Real Estate at Jones Lang LaSalle; regional head of Workplace Resources at Cisco Systems, global head of Corporate Real Estate and Services at Deutsche Bank and most recently, group property director at Barclays. Simon has been long been an advocate of ‘new ways of working’ and spearheaded the introduction of the Workplace Strategies Team at Deutsche Bank.  He is also passionate about sustainability and until recently chaired the Built Environment Sustainability Steering Committee at Barclays, overseeing a massive reduction in the firm’s carbon footprint in 2010.  Simon is a former president of the British Council for Offices and a regular speaker/panellist at real estate industry events.”


Nick Williams, M&A Director, Lloyds Banking Group

Nick is the Change Director for Products in Lloyds Banking Group with specific responsibility for implementing the growth strategy plans across Personal Current Accounts, Loans, Cards, Mortgages, Savings, Investments and Protection.  Most recently he has been focused on leading the merger and integration of the Mortgage businesses across the bank having led the pre-merger work for the Products business unit in 2008/9.  Nick joined the bank in 2006 via Halifax Bank of Scotland and is a former board member of Link plc prior to its merger with VOCA in 2008.  In his 5 years at the bank he has been in the epicentre of an industry and business that continues to go through an unprecedented challenge played out under media, political, regulatory scrutiny. Nick started his career with the Management Consultancy Accenture in 1997 spending his time working across Financial Services.  His experience has been brought through transformational programmes that cover outsourcing, offshoring, greenfield site development, technology development, integration, migration, business process re-engineering and people change.  The common characteristic throughout his experience and success is creating emotionally intelligent leadership that establishes personal connection with colleagues.  Create trusting relationship with each other and their teams empowers everyone to make difference in a winning environment.
