Businesses in the hospitality
industry are preparing for the rundown of England and Wales’ top 30 Best
Employers in Hospitality, as the 2011 shortlist is announced prior to the
awards ceremony in London on June 21st 2011.

The awards, organised by the UK’s leading hospitality recruitment specialist
Caterer.com, seek to recognise the best employers in the industry, as voted by
their own employees.

Restaurants, hotels, pubs, bars, caterers, venues,
and tour operators from across England and Wales will get the chance to see
whether they have made the top 30 Best Employers in Hospitality
– England and Wales before category winners and the overall winner is announced
at a spectacular awards ceremony. The ceremony, taking place at the Lancaster
London Hotel, London will be attended by over 300 industry professionals from
large and small hospitality businesses across the UK.

Basil Blanco, Director of Blanco Goldfarb Associates, sponsors of the
Independent Hotel Employer category, explained why the awards are important to
them:

“We believe that the passion, creativity and
dynamism that the industry thrives on directly results from the talent of the
people within it. The people are what make the hospitality business such a
great and rewarding place to be. In recognition of this we feel it an honor to
sponsor ‘The Best Independent Hotel Employer’ Award.”

The awards, which were launched last year in Scotland, have attracted huge interest with businesses from right across the UK
entering resulting in over 5,000 employee surveys being completed. The results
are gathered using employee engagement questionnaires created by Caterer.com
partners and talent specialists, Learnpurple. The questionnaires are distributed
to the employees of each of the businesses that enter the awards.

Ian Burke of Caterer.com states: “These awards
give hospitality businesses, no matter how large or small, the opportunity to
prove how much they value their employees.”

He
continues: “Knowing how important good talent is in making success of a
business, we are thrilled to see such a diverse variety of organisations who
are keen to attract and retain the best people through employee engagement.”
