Jon Round, Commerical Lawyer, Osborne Clarke

 

Jon is a commercial lawyer specialising in technology transactions, data privacy, intellectual property and export regulation, particularly within the Digital Business and Financial Services sectors.

Jon's recent work includes advising on IT and business process outsourcing, complex software, technology and licensing arrangements and the protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights. He also regularly advises on a range of data privacy issues, including privacy policies, audits and cross-border transfers of data and frequently assists clients with managing export control compliance, including breach management and regulatory investigations.

Jon has spent time on secondment with Hargreaves Lansdown, one of the UK's leading independent financial service providers and asset management specialists. As part of the in-house legal team he advised the business on a variety of matters, including revising consumer facing legal documentation prior to the implementation of the second phase of the FCA's retail distribution review and addressing a range of contractual, data privacy and technical issues arising from the development and execution of a complex digital marketing project.

Jon spent the third year of his Law with French degree studying French Law in Bordeaux where he obtained a Certificat de Droit Français. He joined Osborne Clarke as a trainee and qualified in 2014.
