Jobrapido, the world’s leading jobs search engine, have released new figures today that show which UK industries have recorded the most job postings over the past year. The data*, which covers from January 2016 to January 2017 inclusive, shows that it is the IT, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing, Health and Social Care, and Property and Construction industries that are registering the most amount of vacancies. This may indicate greater stability in these industries than others, and an increased need for these professions in the future.

Meanwhile, Science and Technology, Energy and Utilities, Military Policing and Security, Retail and Banking and Insurance recorded the least amount of job postings on the website, which may indicate less confidence in these industries with regards to job creation going forward.

The picture was not always consistent throughout the year, however. Jobrapido saw a drop in overall job postings of 3% between June and July 2016. There was, however, a quick recovery from July to August. In this period, Jobrapido saw an increase in job postings of 6%. This data serves to highlight the fact that there have been no real implications to the job market to date by Britain’s decision to leave the European Union last June.

Rob Brouwer, CEO of Jobrapido, said:

“The real impact of Brexit will depend on a wide range of policy choices yet to be made. It remains to be seen what the UK is trying to achieve as a country – what its immigration policy will be and what regulatory approach it will pursue. Only then will we understand the true impact of Brexit on the jobs market. Despite increased warnings about the potential risk involving an exit from the European Union, Jobrapido has observed that it has been business as usual for the UK jobs market.”
