REC ‘Scale Up Workbook’ gives recruitment leaders road map for growth

The ability to define a clear business vision and knowing when to bring in executive support are essential for recruitment businesses seeking to expand, according to The Scale Up Workbook published today by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

The latest instalment in the REC’s Scale Up campaign, The Scale Up Workbook builds upon last year’s 7 Secrets of successful recruitment entrepreneurs. The REC has captured advice from those who have achieved success in the industry, and translated this into checklists, action plans, case studies and practical guidance.

Alongside lessons covering planning and strategy, financial management, and technology, The Scale Up Workbook makes the business case for providing ‘added value’ for clients and candidates in order to stand out and stay ahead of the competition. Talent attraction and leadership strategies are also cited as key components for firms seeking growth.

REC chief executive Kevin Green says:

“This is the best time since the 1980s to be running a recruitment business. The REC forecasts 22 per cent industry growth in the next two and a half years. For recruitment leaders, now is the time to ensure you grow in as sustainable way, but faster than the market.

“This workbook is packed with action plans and discussion guides designed to aid decision-making, so that our members who want to take advantage of the growing market know how best to go about it. It complements our podcasts, masterclasses and services, which are all designed to give recruitment leaders the key ingredients for success

Contributors to The Scale Up Workbook include leaders from ten of the UK’s fastest growing recruitment businesses, including Liquid Personnel, Prospero Group and Hallam Medical, which were all included in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table 2015.
