The great while collar experience

Microdec Plc., have teamed up with Pinpoint Partners to help them offer work experience to young people who need extra support.

Pinpoint Partners are a leading global executive search firm, who work primarily in the financial sector. They set up the work experience scheme to help students who face particular challenges when it comes to navigating the world of work.

Many of the students are from families where no one has ever sustained employment, particularly employment in ‘white collar’ roles. Meaning that many do not have the basic knowledge of what is expected when in active employment. Work experience is a crucial part of helping to build a skill set and secure successful futures for these young people by exposing them to working culture.

Trewan Bashford, Director, Pinpoint Partners, “Most of the students that we work with are either studying for IT or Business related qualifications so with the help and generosity of Microdec we can provide two weeks of work experience to students within roles that relates to their course and interests.”

Mark Bowyer, Commercial Director, Microdec PLC, “When Pinpoint approached us about supporting the scheme we didn’t hesitate. We supplied some Profile RPM licences free of charge, providing a real working environment for the students. We would like to congratulate and commend everyone at Pinpoint and the students themselves who have been involved with the work experience scheme for what they have achieved.”

Trewan continues, “40% of those we take on via this scheme are determined as living in poverty, but through support of businesses like Pinpoint Partners and Microdec, as well as education services will hopefully be the first generation of their families to attend higher education.”
