Reactive comment: UK student visa rules reversed

In response to the news announced today that international students will be allowed to stay in the UK for two years after graduation to find a job, a comment from Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library:

“It’s promising to see our Prime Minister encouraging a more ‘global Britain’ and it’s a much-needed boost that this country needs amid this Brexit chaos.

“Overseas students bring a plethora of knowledge and talent to the UK, not to mention much-needed funding for universities. The visa extension will encourage bright students to kick-start successful careers in the UK following their education, helping to plug the skills shortage if a no-deal Brexit were to go ahead.

“Despite worries that this move will lead to foreign graduates entering low-earning jobs simply to remain in the UK, there is nothing to say that this will be the case. The social and economic benefits of extending the visa are unparalleled and this policy should have been reversed years ago.”
