CV-Library Comment In Reaction to ONS Labour Market Statistics

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library comments:

“It’s positive to see in these latest figures that unemployment rates were down during the summer months. The findings reflect our own Q3 2016 data, which revealed that salaries continued to rise, job growth was strong and candidate appetite was in full force during the same period.

“Both findings are certainly a positive indication that the UK’s labour market did not fall victim to the typical ‘summer slowdown’ this year, especially given that there is still a great amount of uncertainty around the impact of the Brexit vote on UK jobs.

“With formal negotiations around the UK’s intention to leave the EU not taking place until early next year, it’s vital that we focus on the fact that the current labour market is performing well and that organisations are continuing to invest in their current and future workforces.”
