Jobboards opt out of participation in NORAS

NORAS is an information source that evaluates the size and profile of job board users. The organisers claim that the information is used to help advertisers in their decision making process when looking at which job boards to target.

Having reviewed the way that NORAS evaluates job board users, Jobsite believes that there should be different criteria for measuring success amongst job boards. This new standard should be created by those within the industry who have an in-depth understanding of the market and online recruitment sites.

NORAS measures a job board by evaluating the number of people that visit a particular website and evaluates users that are not registered with the site. Jobsite believes that measurement of any job board should be based on the candidate quality, suitability and placements made rather than page impressions, which can lead to skewed demographics.

Jobsite prefers to focus on marketing the right candidate to the right job and while it is important to have a good volume of candidates, the more targeted they are to the jobs available, recruiters have a better chance of filling vacancies. Jobsite is about performance and results. NORAS does not take this into account.

CityJobs, Jobsite and Londonjobs will not take part in NORAS. The decision not to participate in NORAS is completely independent and is not influenced by any other external factors. The goal of Jobsite, CityJobs and Londonjobs has always been to make recruitment as simple, fast and effective as possible.
