Whole years worth of training courses up for grabs

20,000 worth of IT training to be won at Careers & Jobs Live and theGRADfair, London’s Olympia 31 October - 1 November 2004

Careers and Jobs Live and theGRADfair, the leading series of recruitment and training exhibitions, are teaming up with IT training specialists James Thornton Training Academy, to offer a very special competition to win a years worth of IT training courses. The recruitment show, run by Jarvis Exhibitions, is based on two floors of the world famous Olympia exhibition centre. There is a section for Graduates called theGRADfair on the first floor and a section for jobseekers, job changers and those seeking training called Careers & Jobs Live on the ground floor.

By attending this years Careers and Jobs Live and theGRADfair, you can not only land yourself a fantastic job, but also win yourself an unlimited amount of IT training courses for a whole year in this fantastic competition. Jarvis Exhibitions has joined forces with IT training company, James Thornton Training Academy, to offer one lucky winner an unlimited range of hands on courses, taught by multi-skilled IT professionals. The open passport scheme means that the winner will get a ’no limit learning passport’, entitling them to choose an unlimited amount of courses within one year.

To enter the competition, visitors to the show can simply visit the JTTA stand on the second floor at Olympia and register their details. The winner will be drawn at random at 2:00pm on Monday 1 November. All courses available are Microsoft certified and offer the highest quality IT training, enabling successful candidates to leave with a recognised qualification. Each course is worth around 5,000 each. Courses are instructor-led with the inclusion of lab exercises and audio and video sessions using state-of-the-art facilities.

Based in central London, James Thornton Training Academy courses give candidates a major boost to their career and job prospects. Visitors to Careers and Jobs Live and theGRADfair will also find details of 1000’s of job opportunities. The careers event is an ideal way to meet face-to-face with prospective employers and give your job search an added edge. Many blue-chip companies are exhibiting at Careers and Jobs Live
including: Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Metropolitan Police, Tesco, First Group Buses and The Teacher Training Agency. The Careers and Jobs Live section is based on the ground floor at Olympia.

At theGRADfair, which is open solely to Graduates and Undergraduates, on the first floor, will be Independent Newspapers Ltd, Milkround Online, ACCA and GCHQ among many others. Also present will be colleges with representatives on hand to explain the opportunities available in Masters and other advanced courses. Admission is free, and features include a free CV clinic, seminars and face-to-face talks with a wide range of exhibitors - enabling visitors to learn from the experts first hand. As a new feature this year, enabling young parents to also utilize the opportunities available, there will be a free crche for both shows.

Another popular feature is the Wall of Opportunity, displaying thousands of current job vacancies and training opportunities available immediately. Candidates can just go along to the employer’s stand number for instant interviews. A preview of jobs available will be featured on the show web site.

Some attendee advice; Think about what type of work you want, do your homework on any exhibitors you are particularly interested in talking to, dress smartly - first impressions count, bring plenty of CVs and fill in application forms carefully on the day.
