Websites made easy by dmnetix Ltd - 10/2001

An online browser-based website building and editing tool

dmnetix Ltd, the new web editing software development company launched in June 2001, have announced the launch of WETbuild, an online browser-based website building and editing tool using WET (Web Editing Tool) server-side software.

WETbuild was designed in response to 3 of todayís biggest stumbling blocks for small and medium sized businesses wanting a professional online presence: creative design, content management and setup & maintenance costs.

WETbuild solves all 3 of these problems giving customers a creatively designed website thatís quick and easy for them to manage themselves. Debra Lake, managing director of dmnetix commented:

ìWe realised there was a gap in the market for reasonably priced, professional website design. What became more apparent the more we studied the situation was that once many SMEs had their site up and running, managing the site content was a lengthy, costly and often painstaking task.î

The WETbuild user chooses from a wide range of creatively designed templates, submits his or her company logo to dmnetix who set up the website shell allowing the user to start editing live online via the server-side WET software (Application Service Provider).

There are many tools available which allow people to build websites online but WETbuild takes the concept into a whole new stratosphere. The range of pre-designed templates to choose from are stunning ñ from cutting edge minimalism to more traditional styles, businesses are sure to find a template to suit their needs. Furthermore, unlike most ìself-buildî packages currently on the market, users are not bound by placing specific objects in specific places on the page. Text, photos, graphics and logos from digital cameras or scanners can be uploaded live online from any PC in the world.

Dennis Wijnschenk, technical director of dmnetix commented:

ìWETbuild gives users total freedom to place text, graphics and pictures anywhere ñ simply layout the page within the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) environment, click save and your page is live for all to see ñ itís as easy as that!î

In addition to its creative excellence and total practicality, WETbuild is technologically at the forefront too. WETís in-depth development has resulted in an ultra fast way to manage online content. As the WET software is server-based (ASP), using WETbuild means thereís no need to download plugins or install specific software programs ñ all that is needed to be up and running in seconds is Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above.

Matthew Sherratt, marketing director of dmnetix commented:
ìOne of the many great things about the WETbuild toolbar is that anyone can use it, even those with no design, or technical know-how. Anyone who knows how to use a standard word processing package will be able to pick up the system almost immediately.î

Furthermore, WETbuild is more than simply a design package ñ itís an online editing tool. WETbuildís flexibility means that content can be edited from wherever, whenever and as often as the user wants. Matthew continued:

ìIf you donít change your content regularly and add value to your userís experience you canít really expect them to come back at a later date. WETbuild means that changes can be made by any authorised user instantaneously ñ effectively cutting out the ëcontent management chainí.î
