Trainerbase opens its service to others

.

During April of 2004 London is playing host to the CIPDís Annual Learning, Training and Development Conference and Exhibition at Olympia. Among the exhibitors are TrainerBase, the West Wales based trainer locator website.

TrainerBase is an online resource where information about trainers, venues and courses can be found. Formed in 2002 by Peter Mayes, the site has grown rapidly and now has an extensive database. There are currently over 1000 members on the site, and this number is growing quickly.

With the facilities on the site constantly being updated TrainerBase is looking to have listed, a trainer, venue or course for almost any area of business practice. Many companies will have in-house training facilities, but will still need to find an external training provider where there are not enough employees to carry out training, or where the training required is in a specialised market sector, such as Freight Logistics or areas of IT. The facilities on TrainerBase allow companies, to view the training services that are on offer and check course details that have been uploaded onto the site. The number of courses and trainers listed on TrainerBase is constantly being updated as more and more people join the on-line database.

The benefits of using TrainerBase are extensive. The on-line database is highly automated and updated regularly meaning that any new trainer, resource or course is displayed on the site almost immediately. The site has also been designed to be as easy to use as possible; a constant challenge given its size and complexity, and a challenge that is often overlooked. Ease of use is crucial to any on-line based business. If a site is difficult to use users will become frustrated and may not return in future. Another key benefit, which adds good value to the site, is that it is a completely free site should you wish to view the range of services. This is unlike many competitor sites, which require registration to be carried out before even the most basic of site viewing can commence. For businesses looking for a fast, effective solution to locating a trainer or course, having to register first will often be a deterrent.

All the trainers that are listed on the site are also subject to a ranking system, active members being listed first. Training materials and other resources can also be uploaded to and removed from the site by members and subscribers, and due to the fact manage their own profiles, the resources are not vetted by TrainerBase and it happens immediately. TrainerBase does however periodically check material on the site to ensure that it is appropriate for the site. The trainers listed on-line also have the ability to sell their own resources through the site. Should users wish to register with the site, it is far more cost effective when compared to many competitor firms.

The HRD exhibition will cover a vast range of topics, all aimed at giving staff more training and development. Some of the areas that will be looked at are implementing learning, training and development strategies, designing learning interventions, maximizing employee potential and managing training and development. The show will also have around forty seminars covering all aspects of these subjects. The exhibition will feature over three hundred stands from different companies, including Trainerbase, where you can see the latest products and resources that are available to help increase employee potential.

Peter Mayes, AKA Ed. Editor of TrainerBase, says ìWe are delighted to be hosting a stand at this years HRD exhibition. This show is the UKís largest training and development show and we think that having a stand at the event will raise brand awareness of TrainerBase and allow us to gain some new clients and members. We are now opening our service to every kind of business trainer and we are developing our database even further, resulting in us being the one-stop shop for all your business training requirements.î
