Top Jobs on the Net strengthens its UK team - 04/2001

Eight key appointments

Top Jobs on the Net announces eight key appointments in its UK sales and marketing teams, bucking the recent trend of dotcom layoffs. The appointments follow a record-breaking month for revenue and site visits, in which Top Jobs on the Net was also voted the most popular online recruitment site for graduates in a survey conducted by Frost & Sullivan, the International Marketing consultancy. This builds upon the successful acquisition of Top Jobs on the Net in January by Scout 24, the leading European online business services marketplace.

In the expanded marketing team at the Warrington head office, Helen Croft joins as marketing communications manager. She comes from Bolton & Bury Chamber of Commerce, where she held the position of publicity and promotions manager. Helen is supported by Odette Thompsett, who joins as UK marketing executive from Shell, and Lee McCoy as online analyst. Lee, who was formerly a self-employed web-designer will deal with online advertising and search engine optimisation, making sure that Top Jobs on the Net are front of mind for jobseekers accessing the web through a search engine.

In the recently enlarged sales team, there are five new appointments. Three new internal account managers boost the team in Warrington, and will help develop existing client business. The internal managers are Gaynor Fletcher, who will be building on telesales experience gained at BT, and Kirsty Donachie and Glen Wilkinson who both join from Reuters.

The Field Sales office based in Richmond is also boosted by two new external account managers, Alex Nealon and Caroline Johnson, who join from TDI and Messaging Direct respectively. Interestingly, Caroline actually tried several other online recruitment firms before Top Jobs on the Net to search for a new job, but found that the results were simply not tailored or targeted enough.

Liz Ramsbottom, UK marketing manager at Top Jobs on the Net, comments, 2001 will undoubtedly see a big shakeout in the industry and Top Jobs on the Net is aggressively seeking to expand it's market share, which is reflected in the expansion of our sales and marketing teams. We are confident that the new Scout 24 deal puts us in a very strong position for the future, especially in the wake of recent job cuts by other online recruitment firms.
