The best way to say no!

.

TrainerBase, the online resource for both training professionals and those looking for company training, has reported a sudden increase in the amount of assertiveness training being sourced. Peter Mayes, editor of TrainerBase, says ëThe growth in the assertiveness industry has always been on the increase, but until recently a gradual one. But lately our marketing research with training purchasers suggests there is an ever stronger need to highlight differences between aggression and assertiveness, plus to show that saying ënoí isnít necessarily a bad thing if there are going to be knock on effects from saying ëyesí.í

TrainerBase emphasises that in the workplace, employees are afraid of saying no, but this leaves them with many tasks that are either unmanageable or within an unrealistic timescale. The key to saying no stems from an understanding of behavioural patterns, and can eventually lead to a personal calm, instead of saying just what you think others may want to hear from you.

Peter continues, ëWe seem to be getting more responses from senior training co-ordinators within large organisations from both the public and private sector looking to find trainers who offer assertiveness training alongside more mainstream training. Saying no is not always a negative answer, if said in the correct manner, and not putting extra strain on the workforce.í
