TSL Educationís revolutionary free online recruitment service for schools, TES HireWire, approaches its first anniversary with an incredible 75 per cent of secondary schools in England signed up and celebrates its 2,500th school coming on board today

TSL Education’s revolutionary free online recruitment service for schools, TES HireWire, approaches its first anniversary with an incredible 75 per cent of secondary schools in England signed up and celebrates its 2,500th school coming on board today.

In a similar incredible achievement, TES HireWire LA, exclusively designed for local authorities and launched just a month ago, has already got 50 local authorities in England (30 per cent) subscribed to the service.

Bill Donoghue, Managing Director at TSL Education, said: “TES HireWire has been a huge success for TSL, exceeding all expectations in its first year, and this remarkable achievement makes TES HireWire the undisputed market leader. Our success endorses the multimillion-pound investment we have made. From the very positive feedback we receive from schools and candidates alike, the industry recognition from the BETT Awards shortlist, 2,500 secondary schools using the service, some 32,000 teachers registered as candidates and more than 3,200 vacancies advertised in a variety of media, we are delighted and overwhelmed by its success. Our strategy at TSL Education is to help schools recruit the best teachers for the right roles in a timely and cost-effective way. TES HireWire supports that strategy and helps professionalise the recruitment process at the same time.”

Bill Donoghue continues, “The benefits for schools, principally saving time, money and resources, include an improved service to candidates, more efficient management of response and insight into the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns. The feedback from schools speaks for itself,”

“I think it's a terrific idea and I love the way that with a few clicks you can get an advertisement out there really quickly. I placed ten adverts over the course of a short period during the busiest time of the recruitment season and found it so easy!” Ruth Cousins, PA to the Head teacher, Bay House School, Gosport

“It's just a case of inputting the job details, clicking and it's done. It's just so much quicker and easier.”

Cathy Whiting, Business Manager, The Ravensbourne School, Bromley, Kent

“We have been using TES HireWire since it first was launched and have found it to be a great tool…it helps keep track of how many applications we receive and where they came from ie; post, email, by hand. Informing unsuccessful applicants that they have not been shortlisted is so much quicker than having to type a letter especially when receiving in excess of 50 applications.”

Mrs D M Bennett, Head's PA/Personnel Officer, Friesland School, Nottingham

“It's now very easy to automatically email unsuccessful applicants, something that was so time-consuming previously. In fact, we've had emails from those individuals thanking us for taking the time to let them know, so I'm pleased it's promoting the school as an efficient and caring employer.”

Monica Cross, Principal, St Matthew Academy, London

“One of the reasons I signed up to TES HireWire was to cut down on interruptions. If we advertise a support staff vacancy we can get in the region of 150 applicants, that's 150 telephone calls we have to field! Now when somebody registers an interest in a vacancy or applies I've only got to touch a button to send a confirmation email, which is a nice thing to be able to do in the present climate.”

Katy Hughes, Personnel Officer, Portland School, Nottinghamshire
