Telco Exec – An Online Community Based Recruitment Platform

The shareholders are inviting offers for the assets and goodwill of Telco Exec, including the website (www.telcoexec.com) and all associated intellectual property

The shareholders are inviting offers for the assets and goodwill of Telco Exec, including the website (www.telcoexec.com) and all associated intellectual property.   The MD will assist with the handover to new owners and would be keen to continue to lead the business if appropriate.

Telco Exec is an online community recruitment platform for technology professionals, enabling them to access telephone mentoring, increase their visibility to the right audience, improve their personal brand, help them discover new jobs, gain an industry insight and make meaningful personal introductions.

Simultaneously it enables companies to interact with the community and attract the best talent more economically.  Companies are able to showcase their brand, culture, values, and working environments through the use of photography, video, textual, and social content to interest with the community, attracting the best candidates at an economic cost.

The founders believe that mass job boards, social media, Linkedin and recruitment agencies all fail to provide the personal service that executives expect.  Linkedin have highlighted the threat of niche, professional communities such as that offered by Telcoexec in their latest annual report.  Also there are examples of similar community recruitment sites growing quickly in the USA, such as Ivy Exec and The Muse.

Early adopters of Telcoexec’s platform  include Tallk Talk, Easyjet, SAP, Altran, Simstream, Global Cloud Exchange, Atos, Keycom, Preact and Indigo Telecom.

Senior Executives from (or formerly with) many leading technology organisations have used the Telco Exec website to promote their personal or corporate brand, including Orange, Motorola, CA Technologies, Cisco, Colt, BT, Vodafone, ARM, Avaya, NASA, Deutsche Telecom, Digicel.

The platform was officially launched in October 2013 and it has attracted over 3,000 technology professionals who have registered to become members.  Telco Exec is estimated to have an online readership of over 23,000.

Jason Bandy, the founder and majority shareholder estimates that, since inception, approximately £400,000 of cash and cash-equivalent resource has been invested in the project.  Whilst this investment has been sufficient to develop an impressive platform, it was at the expense of revenue generation and the current investors are unable to provide the additional funding required to reach critical mass.  Pending a sale, in order to preserve cash, the platform has been placed in ‘tick-over’ mode and Jason Bandy is the sole employee.
