StepStone and Workthing form strategic distribution partnership

.

StepStone ASA, the European career and recruitment portal, has signed a strategic distribution partnership with Workthing, the online recruitment solutions provider, owned by the Guardian Media Group. For the first time Workthing will be offering clients pan-European vacancy advertising.

Both companies will now offer recruitment advertising throughout Europe. Workthing, a leading player in the UK recruitment advertising market, will be able to place branded vacancy advertisements on the StepStone network.

The strategic partnership gives StepStoneís European clients the opportunity to recruit quality candidates from the UK marketplace. By promoting their job opportunities on the Workthing site, which received the largest share of online visits to recruitment sites from July to the end of October (measured by Hitwise), StepStone can include the UK within their established European network.

Harjinder Singh-Heer, director of Business Development for Workthing, commented, ìWe have been keen for a while to offer a European service to our clients and feel we have found the right solution with StepStoneís already successful network.î

Colin Tenwick, chief executive of StepStone commented, ìWe are delighted to have signed this exclusive partnership deal with Workthing, the leading UK site for employment opportunities. This will be of significant benefit to our customers in extending our European reach and enabling us to further improve our provision of quality candidates.î

ìIn November 2001 StepStone successfully completed a restructuring operation, raising EUR35 million of additional funding. Under its new board and strengthened management team, StepStone is now well-placed to address the significant growth potential of the European online recruitment market.î
