Siemens Shared Services gear up for continuous improvement

Siemens Shared Service’s (SSS) drive for world-class performance has led them to engage Score Research to provide specialist benchmarking.

Siemens Shared Service’s (SSS) drive for world-class performance has led them to engage Score Research to provide specialist benchmarking. The extraordinary breadth of services provided by SSS made it difficult to find one benchmarking service provider that could cover the scope.

Service lines range from Human Resources, Information & Communication Technology, Finance & Accounting, Logistics, Strategic Purchasing to professional services such as Intellectual property, Tax, Translations, Risk Management, International Delegates - management, BIS - Business Information Services, Real Estate and Legal.

Score Research’s benchmarking methodology, web-based tools and network of more than two thousand organisations will be employed to deliver benchmark metrics, workshops and ongoing performance measurement.

Andrew Taylor, Finance and Operations Director of SSS is impressed by the service; he said, It offers real operational comparison and insights for continuous improvement. The programme encourages our service line managers to engage with other organisations in focused discussion around service delivery and process improvement. The professional service lines are of particular interest.

Do you want to participate?
Organisations wishing to participate must complete a ’pre-qualification questionnaire’ identifying the scale of operations and timescale and resources willing to be committed to the programme: http://www.scoresurveyor.com/survey/s.php?ID=26
...Requires less than five minutes per service line to complete.

Participation is not limited geographically; the database provides comparison by region and sector. However, Europe will lead and host the first round of workshops. Siemens operate worldwide and regionally via three centres, one for Asia another for America and Canada and one for Europe and the Middle East.

Benchmarking programme phases:
* Pre-qualification
* Data gathering
* Analysis
* Workshop
* Repeated cycles as required
