Select Education win top website award

.

Education recruitment specialists Select Education plc have been named winners of the Vedior Groupís prestigious ëMost Improved Website Awardí. The award was presented at the recent International Vedior Group Conference in Arizona.

Select Education plc won the award against stiff competition from over 160 other websites operated by companies in the Vedior Group, which has almost 2,500 offices operating in 30 countries globally. Each website was reviewed by an impartial judging panel from three different countries to avoid cultural bias. As well as considering a range of technical and design criteria to test the organization behind the website, the judging panel ëmystery shoppedí sites to assess responsiveness to candidate applications, demanding a personalized response to online candidates within 24 hours.

John Nurthen, Director of eBusiness and Corporate Affairs for Vedior (Holdings), who announced the website award winners commented, ëOnline candidates should be treated with the same respect and attention as those who register for work in person. An automated response email is not a sustainable service approach as we begin to experience an increasingly candidate-led market, so level of response was an important criterion for the judgesí.

Select Educationís website came in for special praise for the judges because of its specialist content ñ particularly the content aimed at teachers. The judging panel made these comments on the website: ëgreat functionality, lots of content and good ideas particularly pertinent to the education staffing sector. A very significant advance.í

Bob Wicks CEO of Select Education plc commented, ëThe web provides the education recruitment sector with great opportunities for offering additional services to education establishments and to staff, and we have tried to capitalize on these opportunities. Our website is a vital tool for Select Education, which backs up the quality, personal approach that we know schools and teachers value. Everyone who has been involved with developing the website and keeping it current and lively is to be congratulated.í

Select Educationís branch network are able to place vacancies and candidates direct onto the website, which receives between 20,000 and 25,000 visits each month from education establishments and teaching and support staff. The site enables teachers to receive email alerts about suitable vacancies.

As well as winning the ëmost improved websiteí awards, Select Education also took second place in the group overall for the quality of its website. Bob Wicks commented, ëAgain this bears out the Select Education commitment to quality in all that we do ñ weíll be working hard at achieving the top award next year ñ and to continuing to look at ways of improving our service to clients and candidates through technology whilst at the same time retaining the reputation for personal service and attention to detail that has made us the biggest education recruiter in the UK.í
