according to JNIR

80% of the websites readers are in the ABC1 category. 31% higher than its nearest competitor.

Preliminary JNIR figures released this week show that RecruitIreland.com attracted approximately 53,000 ABC1 readers in a fortnightly period.

Almost 80% of the total 66,000 readers are under 35 years of age. This is the age group most likely to be considering moving jobs and again represents a key sector in the recruitment market.

The JNIR survey measures the total Irish internet audience and the reach of Irish based websites. It is supported by the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) and the Association of Advertisers in Ireland. (AAI)

Commenting on the results Aoife Curtin, Marketing Manager said ìwe are delighted with our 66,000 readers fortnightly especially when you consider RecruitIreland.com specializes in jobs and some of the major ISPís and news sites received approximately 100,000 readers. It is great to finally have a research and measurement tool based on industry standard practices as opposed to figures such as page impressions and unique visitors which can very often confuse advertisersî

Background to the JNIR:
A new Internet research service has been launched to meet the needs of Irish advertisers. The new Joint National Internet Research (JNIR) figures are specifically compiled to help advertisers get a more accurate picture of the readership profile of key websites in Ireland. For the first time, advertisers can now review a set of comprehensive set of social and demographic data related to many of Irelandís most popular websites in a format consistent with other research standards used for radio and print. Top line results from the first JNIR figures indicate that over one third of Irish adults are regular internet users, 43 per cent of all males are regular Internet users but only 27 per cent of females.
