Recruiters Confidence Increases In August

ExecuNetís Recruiter Confidence Index, which dropped last month, rebounded in August.

ExecuNetís Recruiter Confidence Index, which dropped last month, rebounded in August. The recent survey of 147 executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, a leader in executive-level job and networking opportunities, reveals that recruiters are expecting continued growth for the executive employment market in the months ahead.

According to the survey, 57% of recruiters are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months -- up from 54% in July. During this period of time, the executive search industry is expecting a 17% increase in the number of assignments it receives from clients - a pace that is unchanged from last month.

ìDespite some uncertainty surrounding the health of the economy, recruiters donít see the employment marketís recovery coming to a halt any time soon,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìIf companies increase hiring at the rate at which recruiters expect, executives will have many more new opportunities headed their way.î

Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment market also improved in August, as 43% are confident or very confident the market will get better in the three months ahead - up from 37% in July.

To prepare for growth in the employment market, 42% of search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff in the next three months - up significantly from 33% in July. During the last three months, more than a quarter (27%) of all search firms added professional staff.

ìRecruitersí confidence in the executive employment marketís continued recovery is supported by their own hiring,î says Anderson. ìSearch firms wouldnít be adding staff if they expected the recovery to stall.î
