2003 - the year of integration

Recent research conducted by Talent Zone Asia Pacific suggests that the corporate recruitment market is increasing it''s interest in online recruitment products... but at a different level. In previous years,
companies have been researching Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and experimenting with job boards with clear evidence of success. However, companies are now seeking to move more of the recruitment process online.

The greatest challenge for today''s companies is finding the products that integrate with one another, says Will Spensley, Director from Talent Zone Asia Pacific. Job boards are being pressured to integrate with ATS and the ATS is expected to integrate with the HRIS. Online assessment tools such as psychometric testing are beginning to be the next challenge and most providers are willing to integrate with the ATS. It''s a pity there isn''t one product that does all and with a plethora of products in the market it makes the researching products difficult, says Mr Spensley.

The Australasian Online Recruitment Product Guide 2003 published by Talent Zone Asia Pacific is the only Australasian based product directory which lists over 30 providers profiles and product functionality. The recent withdrawal of Monster, the collapse of Personic and the oversupply of products in Australia highlights the real need for companies to conduct research into products thoroughly before committing, says Mr Spensley. Research should be combined with a thorough due diligence and reference
checking, he added.
