The UK based Qibla Cola Company Ltd announced today details of its donations to good causes. Qibla Cola pledges 10% net profit to good causes in each country the products are distributed.

Abid Hussain, Qibla Colaís spokesperson, said ’Although we havenít made a profit in our first year, contributing to good causes is inherent in our business model. To this end, we have published on our website some of the donations we have made over the past year including 1500 to BBC Children in Need and contributions to schools, hospitals and community events in socially deprived areas.’

’We are growing rapidly and there has been huge interest in our ethical business model. Our forecasts show that we expect to become profitable in the first quarter of next year allowing the company to donate 10% of itís net profit. Qibla has commenced distribution in Canada, Netherlands, Norway and Pakistan with Australia, Malaysia and India to follow soon.’

Established in January 2003, Qibla Cola was formed to demonstrate that businesses can succeed using an ethical business model as opposed to purely profit driven practices.

Products of the company are available from retailers throughout the UK. Donation details are published on the Qibla Cola website
