PSL uses web services technology

to provide fully integrated online psychometric testing

PSL has announced the launch of an online psychometric test delivery platform that can be seamlessly integrated with recruitment web sites, applicant tracking software and job boards.

Psychometric testing enables recruiters to predict the likely performance of their applicants. It is a powerful tool that can significantly enhance the selection process. However integrating psychometric testing with recruitment web sites or applicant tracking software or job boards has been problematic. Recruiters have had to deal with general unreliability combined with haphazard data exchange and poor integration.

PSL have solved these problems with the release of QTE (Question and Test Engine). QTE can deliver just about any psychometric test. These include advanced item banked ability tests and personality questionnaires where recruiters can select which scales are delivered and create target profiles which applicants are ranked against. Most important of all is that QTE has been designed as a web service. This means that your recruitment software can seamlessly request test sessions and instantly receive back the results.

QTE is extremely scalable with a basic installation capable of testing over 1 million people per day. It supports over 95% of browsers and through avoiding usage of Java Applets and cookies is unlikely to fall foul of firewall or browser security settings.

Early QTE users include Ernst & Young, Lloyds TSB, Tesco and UBS.

Richard Alberg, Chief Executive at PSL comments, ìOver 1.3 million people have completed job applications using our online assessment software. This experience has taught us a huge amount about the issues that need to be considered when testing using the web. QTE finally makes online testing a practical proposition for volume recruiters and permits the power of good assessment to be combined with the speed and efficiency of online recruitment.î
